Weaving The Navajo Way - Advanced

October 5th-6 hours(9:00-noon/1:00-4:00)

Classroom Location: SOMOS Rm. C, 108 Civic Plaza Drive, Taos, NM 87571

Continue the exploration of the art of weaving Navajo rug designs. Learn the essential design elements found in Navajo rugs including weaving with two colors, border designs and tapestry techniques. Learn more about those pesky diagonals and the different types of joints. Those students continuing from Thursday's class will finish their first project and start another. Those just taking the Friday class will come with a loom already warped up so we can begin immediately the study of Navajo designs.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Students should have taken Thursday's class or have had experience in Navajo style weaving.

$5 materials fee, includes: yarn and specialized supplies

Students need to bring: Cactus Flower loom already warped up. Other looms may be used with prior approval from the instructor.
