October 6th-3 hours(9:00-noon)

Classroom Location: SOMOS Rm 1 - 108B Civic Plaza Drive, Taos, NM 87571

Learn all the skills necessary to make yourself a beautiful rug or wall hanging from yarn that you may already have in your stash! Rug hooking is an art that is uniquely American and dates back at least to the 1700's. Instead of rug hooking with fabric strips (which requires a certain type of wool and a cutter), learn to rug hook with YARN! Your class project will be a rectangular mat that can hang on the wall or be used as a hot pad. Learn different hooking techniques to make your mat interesting or downright wild and and crazy! It's another fun way to play with yarn!
